When planning our trip to the Loire Valley, I was absolutely overwhelmed at the sheer magnitude of accommodation options. Not only is the Loire region itself quite vast, but there are also a plethora of hotels, estates, and inns to fit every taste, style, and budget. During our brief time in the Loire Valley, we visited three towns and villages – each one more charming and beautiful than the last. Our first stop? The historic town of Amboise, located on the banks of the Loire River. Nestled on the edge of the famed Luberon Valley, the ancient hill town of Loumarin is seemingly unchanged by time. We spent a few hours exploring its quiet, rambling alleyways lined with sun-bleached stone buildings covered with crawling ivy and roses. When it was time to give our feet a rest, we walked into the town square and enjoyed an al fresco lunch of warm goat cheese salads and rosé – a common theme of the trip.
