As told by Autumn, “We wanted to focus on inspirational looks that were really derived from a sense of the winter season. The two Carol Hannah dress styles became a major factor in articulating two distinct winter style offerings. Additionally, I wanted a custom backdrop that would create an abstract environment for the settings. This hand-painted winter sky became the unifying thread through the scenes and settings we created.

For the first dress and setting (light tablescape and strapless gown), we wanted to create a lighter, feminine, romantic approach to the color and texture palette. Still inspired by the tones and textures of the winter landscape, we emphasized warmth, softness and fragility through the use of velvet table linens, dried plants blended with fresh flowers and an absence of green foliage. The tablescape also demonstrates the possibility of styling a low beautiful table and the option of adding another level to the environment with a custom elevated floral design which is repurposed from the ceremony backdrop (both are beautiful, just two options within a look, etc).

The second setting has a darker, sexier, modern feeling inspired by the spare beauty of the winter landscape. I also drew inspiration from an Amy Kirchner painting which feels like the softness of snow and interjected with black branches of bare trees. The table setting is a study in subtle texture; a generous use of pure black; black velvet tablecloth, black matte porcelain plates balanced against clear angled glassware and icy Lucite candleholders. Whisps of dried grasses and fragile twigs arch from handmade black porcelain vessels echoing the flames of the black taper candles. Sleek black handled cutlery. We positioned this setting by the darker portion of the backdrop. Overhead, a cloud of dried grass rains blooms of white longiflorum lilies. The delicate hyacinth blossom hair piece was meant to accentuate the elegant back of the dress and echo the raining lily blooms of the dining environment. The clean draping of the dress, clear acrylic chairs, etc.”
