This past July, I spent a quiet summer morning exploring Paris with Stéphanie & Guillaume. This sweet couple, who first bonded over their shared passion for equestrianism over a decade ago, reached out to me earlier this winter about coming to France to take their Paris engagement photos, and I truly could not have been more honored to document their love at some of their favorite locations in the city.
We met at the Louvre, just as the sun began to rise, and spent an hour wandering through the immense property’s beautiful grounds. The stunning French baroque architecture and neutral color palette provide a seemingly endless array of beauty which I will never tire of photographing, and Stéphanie’s beautiful navy dress was the perfect compliment to the scenery.
From there, it was off to the Jardin du Luxembourg – one of my all-time favorite places in Paris. Situated on the border between Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Latin Quarter, the Luxembourg Gardens, inspired by the Boboli Gardens in Florence, were first created in the early 17th century. From the gorgeous facade of the palace to the magical Medici Fountain, the Luxembourg Gardens are truly a film photographer’s dream.
Next, we stopped by Stéphanie & Guillaume’s sophisticated Saint-Germain flat for a quick outfit change and from there were off to Place Saint-Sulpice – an absolutely stunning square located just steps from their apartment. Although I have spent countless days exploring the beautiful Saint-Germain neighborhood and Latin Quarter, this was actually my first time photographing the fountain of Place Saint-Sulpice – a truly perfect backdrop for Paris engagement photos!
Finally, Stéphanie & Guillaume stopped at their favorite neighborhood café – Café Madame on Rue Vaugirard. Coincidentally enough, this utterly photogenic café also served as the backdrop for the lovely Monica Francis’ branding session last fall! I truly could not have enjoyed my time more with this lovely Parisian couple – thank you, Stéphanie & Guillaume, for trusting me with documenting your priceless memories!
