Juliet and Joffrey, a chic Upper East Side couple, chose the breathtaking backdrop of Versailles for their intimate three-day wedding celebration. After a stunning portrait session in the Gardens of Versailles and an opulent welcome party at Le Grand Controle, the wedding festivities unfolded in the historic and luxurious settings of the bride’s family’s 17th-century hôtel particulier, Hôtel de Bouillon, and the opulent Le Grand Controle, located within the grounds of the Château de Versailles, all as seen on Over the Moon and captured by Le Grand Controle wedding photographer Molly Carr.

The morning of their wedding day was nothing short of magical. Juliet and her maid of honor woke up refreshed after a decadent night in Le Grand Contrôle’s signature Necker Suite. This lavish suite, once the private apartment of Louis XVI’s Finance Minister, boasts stunning views of the Palace and Orangery Gardens, making it the perfect place to start the day.
The day began with the traditional Kings Wakeup, where their butler drew the curtains and woke Juliet with citrus milk, a favorite drink of Marie Antoinette. She donned an exquisite Carine Gilson robe, handmade in Belgium with satin and French lace, and enjoyed croissants, macarons, and a traditional English Tea.
Ready for the day, Juliet slipped into her Elie Saab wedding gown, adorned with 3D organza flowers and hand-embellished with crystals. She paired this with diamond and pearl drop earrings and a crystal necklace, layered in her hair to complete her stunning bridal look. We took full advantage of her incredible boudoir by creating bridal portraits amongst floral installations by Kaleb Norman James.
The ceremony took place in the bride’s family home—the extraordinary Hôtel de Bouillon—a private mansion designed by Louis Le Vau, the architect of the Château de Versailles. Filled with priceless French antiques and décor pieces from the Louis XVI era, the mansion provided the perfect backdrop for the couple’s intimate ceremony and post-ceremony wedding lunch, featuring antique table tops and family heirloom décor pieces.
After lunch, the couple returned to Le Grand Contrôle, where Juliet enjoyed a relaxing soak in the clawfoot bathtub, with picturesque views of the Château de Versailles gardens, before changing into her stunning pink Elie Saab haute couture reception gown.
The grand finale of the day was the lavish wedding dinner at Le Grand Contrôle’s Grand Cabinet, painted in Marie Antoinette’s favorite Pluton Gray. The room was adorned with silver and gold accents, abundant candlelight, and individually framed dinner menus. The grand reception table featured a full spectrum of colorful florals and a multi-course Michelin-starred dining experience helmed by Chef Alain Ducasse.
As the evening came to a close, Juliet and Joffrey toasted their marriage with champagne and a traditional cake cutting at home, surrounded by their closest friends and family. It was a fairy tale wedding, filled with love, luxury, and unforgettable moments in the heart of Versailles.
