The day after Emily & Paul’s intimate chateau wedding in Normandy (see the full post here), we returned to one of my favorite places in France – the beautiful cliffs of Etretat.
Nestled tightly in between the majestic chalk cliffs, the town of Étretat enchanted us with its quaint streets, amazing seafood, and stunning views. As the sun began to wane, we climbed up, up, up, to reach the top of the stunning cliffs, and from there began their honeymoon session. Scroll down for the full story!

The Etretat coastal walk above the English Channel offers some of the most stunningly beautiful sunset views in all of France. There seems to be a perpetual mist floating dreamily above the sea which creates a painterly palette of golds, blues, and greens. In fact, the light in Etretat is so enchanting that it was one of the most popular subjects of famed Impressionist painters including Monet.

During our sessions, I love to give couples time to disconnect from the camera and just connect with each other and their beautiful surroundings. I actually find that allowing them to do so creates some of the most beautiful imagery!
The way that Paul looked at Emily was so incredibly beautiful. These two have such a love and respect for each other – it made photographing them a breeze!
As the sun set, Emily and Paul took a moment to stand, hand in hand, and gaze out at the beautiful water and village below – soaking in the once-in-a-lifetime moment. After a beautiful romance and a week of celebrations in Normandy, the two were officially husband and wife and, in the morning, set off onto their next adventure – honeymooning in Champagne and Paris!
