Today, I’m absolutely thrilled to share that we have been featured by the fine art wedding blog Wedding Sparrow! Nestled in the rolling hillsides of Burgundy, amongst ancient Medieval villages and world-famous vineyards, Château de Varennes is a truly stunning castle and one of the best destination wedding venues in France. On a foggy Autumn afternoon, we explored the enchanted château with our fairytale bride, cloaked in a cape and gown made of the palest pink silk. As told by Jennifer Fox Weddings, “Modern day Marie Antoinette was on our mind when we crafted this special wedding editorial in Burgundy, France. Château de Varennes served as the perfect backdrop for our design. The château dates back to the 18th century and its interior offers a mix of modernity with ancient charm.
With this backdrop in mind, we wanted to show a young bride viewing her wedding day through rose-colored glasses. Our intention was for the day to have an innocent, dream-like look and feel. The dress and cape that the bride wore were a pink dream! Pastel blue jeweled heels capped off the wedding ensemble perfectly!
The floral design had a nod of whimsy and the blooms themselves had a marshmallow-like quality! Different hues of pink and ivory florals accented with little greenery provided a more formal style. The floral design on the cake was designed to look like a piece of still life art!
At the wedding table, handcrafted ceramic dishes sat alongside vintage pink glass wine goblets and delicately etched glass Champagne coupes, filled with rosé Champagne, of course! The golden flatware was meant to add a pop of contemporary fun! Powder pink linens draped ever so lightly down the table and baby blue taper candles rounded out the tabletop styling.
The paperie design was in a word, royal! The gold leaf accents throughout the invitation, place cards and vow books were fit for a queen! The pièce de résistance of the stationery suite was the envelope liner which depicted an impressionist French painting.” Scroll down to see more Chateau de Varennes wedding photography and for more fine art wedding inspiration (including a gorgeous video from Onyx Production)!
