Today, we are thrilled to share that Laura & Craig’s romantic château wedding has been featured on the front page of Style Me Pretty! Two days after their pre-wedding session in Paris, Laura and Craig were married in the French countryside in front of forty of their nearest and dearest at the beautiful Château Bouffémont. For this amazing East-Coast couple, their love of classic literature was the inspiration for their fairytale wedding day and the incredible Jennifer Fox Weddings beautifully tied-in the literary theme throughout the entire day. The morning of June 28th greeted us with an abundance of sunshine. As Laura quietly got ready in her bridal suite, stopping to take the time to write Craig a letter which she would give to him later in the afternoon, the breeze softly blew in through the French windows, creating a feeling of tranquility and romance that would linger throughout the rest of the day.
Instead of traditional bridesmaids, Laura opted to have her three sisters each pick their own gowns and I love how the unique dresses each reflected their individual personalities and tied together in such a fashion-forward way.
To give themselves a few quiet moments together before the ceremony, Laura and Craig opted for a first look outside of the chateau. His reaction when he saw Laura for the first time – a vision of bridal beauty – was absolutely priceless!
Their intimate ceremony was held inside of Chateau Bouffemont’s beautiful mint green Grand Salon, and I absolutely love the way that Jennifer Fox and Floraison elegantly showcased the venue with classic French chairs and greenery, creating a garden-inspired feel that brought the outside in. Laura and Craig exchanged their vows under an arch of foliage, and after hearing their beautiful and deeply personal promises to each other, not a dry eye remained in the entire room (including my own).
The ceremony concluded with Laura and Craig walking together down the aisle as musicians played ‘La Vie en Rose’ and their guests tossing fragrant lavender blossoms from cones handmade out of pages from vintage French books. After, the festivities moved to the terrace overlooking the French countryside, where their guests were to dine on oysters, canapes, and sip champagne.
For their garden-inspired wedding reception, Jennifer Fox Weddings and Floraison created a truly enchanting scene that felt as though you had stepped back in time into a fairytale. The forty-person long table, placed at the base of the chateau and overlooking the rolling French hills, was overflowing with the most beautiful blooms of soft blush and white hues.
Each guest was treated with a calligraphed place-card and a macaron hand-tied with silk ribbon. To create the feeling of being completely enveloped into a dreamworld, Floraison designed lush arches of greenery that spanned the entire length of the table. It was truly and without a doubt one of the most beautiful and romantic wedding dinners I had ever seen.
Their long, lingering dinner, illuminated by the golden French sunshine, was magnificently created by Grand Chemin. Guests enjoyed fantastic wine paired with the most gorgeous of food pairings including fresh lobster topped with edible flowers.
As the sun began to wane, Laura, Craig, and I snuck off to spend a few minutes taking their wedding portraits in the garden. Their love has such a beautifully serene quality, I simply allowed their connection to unfold naturally in front of my camera.
Finally, we returned to their dinner table for toasts, a classic French dessert buffet lit by sparklers, and dancing in the chateau. The entire day felt straight out of a fairytale and I will forever be grateful to know this amazing couple. Laura & Craig, I am so incredibly happy for you both and know you have a lifetime of love, beauty, and adventure ahead of you!
