This past October, Ryan and I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon taking newlywed photos with Cory+Jackie. I love the idea of capturing that magical moment of post-wedding and honeymoon bliss – the moment where for the first time you realize that somehow, someway fate has bestowed upon you her greatest fortune – the privilege of being able to spend every single day for eternity with the most amazing person on Earth. The fact that we will be able to look back at our photos fifty years from now and be able to remember this special time is absolutely priceless.
It was important for me that the photos reflected our family in our natural element, which is why it was an easy decision to have the photos taken in our house. Built in 1905, our house is a three bedroom Victorian cottage located just north of downtown Indianapolis that we absolutely adore. It was important for us to have our beloved rescue dog Yoda included in our newlywed photos, as since we had a destination wedding he was not able to be included. My favorite images from the session? The photos that Cory+Jackie captured on film – so soft and dreamy!
I am so happy with how our newlywed photos turned out and I highly encourage every couple to consider scheduling a weekened post-honeymoon to do the same!
These photos are absolutely stunning! To be honest, I’ve never heard (or thought) of a newlywed session… but I can now see how amazing this could be. You have been captured so beautifully…. and the film photos look gorgeous!
Thank you so much Alina! To be honest, we never got around to doing engagement photos – with work and planning a destination wedding I felt like it would be just one more thing to add to my to-do list…so we opted to wait and do them when we were newlywed instead. I’m so happy we did 🙂
Beautiful pics!! Love the one of you two dancing in the kitchen.
Thanks, that’s one of my favorites too!
Love these Molly!
