Aubrey and Sam traveled from the rolling hills of the Tennessee countryside to the snowy Austrian Alps to celebrate their marriage, and it’s an honor to share that their photos have been featured on Carats & Cake! The couple, inspired by the Sound of Music, opted for the historic Schloss Leopoldskron as their wedding venue. Nestled just outside of the picturesque town of Salzburg and at the base of the mountains, this exquisite Rococo palace floats romantically above a postcard-worthy lake—creating an ambiance almost too beautiful for words. As a Schloss Leopoldskron wedding photographer, it was an absolute dream to travel to Austria and capture Aubrey & Sam’s love story on medium format film. Strolling through the quaint streets of Salzburg the day before their wedding was absolute magic. The baroque architecture truly transports you to another time.
Aubrey chose a fashion-forward knit gown featuring a mock-neck and stunning embellishments, a nod to their winter love story. Sam opted for a classic tuxedo.
Aubrey and Sam exchanged their vows inside of the palace’s historic library – one of the most beautiful in the world.
After saying ‘I do’, they headed into the Chinoiserie Room where Irene brought Aubrey’s dream of a lavish tea party to life. With an abundance of florals and Austrian sweets, the couple cut their cake amongst the hand-painted chinoiserie panels, framed by exquisite views of the Alps as far as the eye could see.
After the tea party, we explored the Rococo wonderland that is Schloss Leopoldskron, capturing wedding portraits amongst the architectural splendor. It was Aubrey’s dream to get married on a snowy day, and we were graced with the lightest dusting that we enjoyoed as we watched the sun set over the lake.
