A few weeks ago, I spent a quiet summer morning in Paris exploring the beautiful 1st Arrondissement with Lauren and Nick, a wonderful couple from Indianapolis who were honeymooning in England and France. One of my favorite things about being a Paris honeymoon photographer is that I am able to see the city through the eyes of someone else – often whom may be on their first trip to Europe. It reminds me of that fateful trip, almost a decade ago, in which I first visited Paris and just knew in my heart that I would never be the same.
We met on the Seine, just as the sun began to rise, and spent a few moments simply admiring the beauty of the city. Watching the boats slowly float down the river and the morning light dance on the water is one of my absolute favorite things about sunrise sessions – it literally makes you feel like you have the entire city to yourself.
Next, we explored one of my all-time favorite places in Paris – the palatial grounds of the Louvre. The stunning French baroque architecture and neutral color palette provide a seemingly endless array of beauty which I will never tire of photographing, and Lauren’s gorgeous blue JCrew dress was the perfect compliment to the scenery.
Finally, we strolled through the Jardin des Tuileries – one of Lauren & Nick’s favorite places in the city. Situated directly west of the Louvre, the beautiful royal gardens offer a dream of tranquility inside the busy first arrondissement. Lauren and Nick have a warmth to them that makes you feel like immediate friends, and they truly could not have been easier to photograph. Lauren and Nick, I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and look forward to seeing you again in Paris (hopefully soon)!
